Welcome to Dorothy Peacock Elementary!
We are an inclusive Kindergarten to Grade 7 school located in the Walnut Grove Community in North Langley. Our school mission statement: “Working together as a community, we encourage caring, responsibility, and a love of learning that will last a lifetime” is at the heart of all we do. We are guided daily by the virtues of RESPECT, CARE and RESPONSIBILITY in our day-to-day work.
The students of Dorothy Peacock are supported every day by our incredible staff. Each adult in the building comes ready to help our children reach their full potential. Guided through the philosophies of Restorative Action as well as the First Peoples Principles of Learning, we strive consistently to develop upstanding, successful members of the local and global community.
And to that end, we believe strongly that the positive relationship between school, home and the surrounding community is essential for the best development and growth of our children. We know that it truly takes a village to raise a child so we strongly encourage communication between families and our staff. We are all working together for the success of our students.
We enjoy a wonderful partnership with Langley Township including use of the park and accessible playground near our school.. As well, we are pleased to have Wind and Tide Pre-School as part of our learning community. Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) provides ongoing support to the school, both through educational and fundraising initiatives.
We love our school and love our community! The collaborative efforts of everyone involved is what makes Dorothy Peacock Elementary such an amazing place to learn and grow. My door is always open so please never hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Shawn Davids
