November 15, 2020

Happy Sunday. Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend. We have a full week ahead, so please take a moment to read through the information below.

New Information To Share

Parent Masks: While not mandated, we are asking parents to please wear masks when they are on school grounds. We are all trying to do our part to slow down the spread of COVID 19 and wearing masks can go a long way to keeping our students safe. Your support of the health and safety of our staff and students is greatly appreciated.

COVID 19 Daily Health Screening: As we’re seeing numbers rise across the province, it’s a good time to remind families of our daily health screening for students and staff. Please be sure you are using the district guidelines (click here) each and every morning to determine if your child should attend school.

Before And After School Procedures: A reminder to families to continue to drop off their children as close to the bell as possible. And to support our learning cohorts, please have students go straight to their line up spot when they arrive. Also, our playgrounds are closed after school so please be sure to leave right away.

Upcoming Professional Development Day: A reminder that next Monday November 23rd is a professional development day for staff. Students do not attend.

Information From Last Week

Student Safety Around Schools – Weather: With the days growing shorter and the weather changing to rain, fog, and frost, Dorothy Peacock Elementary is reminding all our students to take extra precaution when walking to and from school. Please be aware of your surroundings, walk on the sidewalk and with someone whenever possible, and avoid wearing headphones. We also ask drivers in our school community to be vigilant on our roads. Student safety is our priority. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping everyone safe.
