May 24, 2020

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. They seem to fly by, even during the time of quarantine. It was nice to have the opportunity to be outside and take in that fresh air. Here are a couple things you need to know about this week.

New Information To Share

Latest Information Bulletin: This was sent out Friday but incase you missed it, please click here for the latest Information Bulletin from Superintendent Gord Stewart

Transition To Stage 3: Thank you to everyone for getting us the information we needed regarding the province’s transition to Stage 3 of the BC Restart Plan. We have been busy planning for the return of some students starting June 1st and will continue to do so this week. Those who have indicated their child(ren) will be returning will receive an email early this week with your scheduled day(s) as well as some instructions on what to bring and Health & Safety protocols. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Access To School Grounds: Starting June 1st, we are asking that students who are not attending school to avoid being on schools grounds between 8:15am and 2:45pm. We will be using the space for students in attendance and are working to minimize numbers on campus to fully support effective physical distancing. We appreciate you support.

Information From Last Week

Class Placements 2020-2021: As we already begin to look forward to next school year, we will be meeting as a staff in June to create classes for September. As you can imagine a lot of work goes into this process and there are many many factors that dictate who classes are composed. We do like to hear from parents if there is pertinent information about their child however please note that it is only a small portion of what determines final class composition. In sharing information with us, we ask that you refrain from naming particular teachers and/or students unless there are extraordinary circumstances that require that. Feel free to share information related to the educational, emotional and behavioural needs of your child. The due date for parent input is Monday June 1, 2020. We ask that you click here to complete the online form. Please contact Mr Davids if you have any questions.

Virtual Teams Meetings: Many of our students have been participating in virtual Teams meetings with their teachers and/or SEAs. This has been a great way to connect as well as support the continuity of learning plan. Please click here for information regarding the recording of these virtual meetings.
